Every Wednesday during Lent (21 & 28 February, 7, 14, 21 and 28 March)
A Journey to Easter – the artist Chris Gollon, was commissioned to paint 14 Stations of the cross for Bethnal Green church by its PCC. The work took him 9 years to complete and has received wide critical acclaim and the endorsement of the Bishop of London. Over the period of Lent we shall be making a study of the paintings and building a walk-round exhibition for all to see in Holy Week (29 March to 1 April). We would like to invite you all to join us. We will meet in church each Wednesday evening (beginning Wednesday 21 February) to reflect on the paintings and share our perceptions. There will be music and opportunities to explore the biblical context of the paintings and discuss questions relating to them. It should be fun! The sessions will begin at 7.30pm, will run for an hour and we will finish with some optional prayers at 8.45pm. Each session will be a “stand alone “ one, though we will build towards the climax of the story as we go along.
