Midweek Activities

Jack and Jill Toddler Groups

Jack and Jill meets in St Giles’ Church Hall every Monday and Wednesday from 9.30-11.30am.  There are about 120 members aged up to 3 years, who come along with their parents or carers in two groups.

We have a craft or play activity such as play dough, sand play, painting or sticking, and we try to incorporate seasonal or festive themes. Toys range from a playhouse to shape sorters, and sit-and-ride, to Duplo building bricks. There is a safe area for babies.  We have a singing session and provide juice and biscuits for the children and a hot drink and biscuit for the carers.

Sometimes we invite individuals to display and sell goods such as books, gift-wrap and cards, and twice a year a local photographer visits the group.

Each year we have several short church services at the start of our morning session.  We also have a Christmas party, summer outings and we organise group bookings to the theatre.  We organise fund-raising events for the groups and for local and children’s charities, as well as joining in local events such as Ickenham Festival.

6th Ickenham Brownies is for girls aged between 7 and 10 years old meeting on Fridays in term time in St Giles’ Church Hall from 5pm until 6.30pm.

The girls come and learn about Girl Guiding, carry out different activities and have fun. They cook, make things, play games, sing songs, badge work, acting, gardening and team building activities.

All this activity has knock-on benefits for the community and allows the girls to make new friends outside school, as well as learning new skills.

2nd Ickenham Brownies is affiliated to St. Giles Church and we meet every Monday in school term time at St Giles’ Church hall. We begin at 6pm and end at 7.15pm. Every term we plan our programme and the brownies choose what they would like to do.

We go away on pack holidays about twice a year and these are local in our county pack holiday home in Harefield. We help raise funds for the upkeep of our guide HQ by helping with the jumble sale, Autumn Fayre and various fun and games evenings we hold.
